Hardy and Lautrec

In class the other day we discussed “A Gaiety Girl” by Dudley Hardy.

Gaiety Girl
The image, to me, both in style and content, was very reminiscent of the works of Toulouse-Lautrec.

This, of course, is influenced by Japanese wood-block prints, but I thought it interesting to see a chain of connection, albeit a thin one.
